 A man wrote a letter to the editor of the newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday. "I went for 30 years," he wrote "and in that time I have heard thousands of sermons. But for the life of me I can't remember a single one, so I think I'm wasting my time."

Another man wrote in reply, "I've been married for 30 years," he said, "my wife has cooked me thousands of meals, for the life of me though, I can't recall the menu for a single one of them. But I know that they nourished and strengthened me to do my work, support my family and live my life. Likewise, if I hadn't gone to church for nourishment. I would be spiritually dead!"
